The University of New Brunswick (UNB) is known internationally as an accredited school with rigorous standards, and now, UNB has one more accreditation to add to that list.
Certified Management Accountants of Canada (CMA Canada), the world leader in shaping strategic management accounting® professionals to lead successful enterprises in the global marketplace, has awarded for a five-year period the accreditation of the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Accounting Major Program at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton Campus.
The University of New Brunswick is among an exclusive group of academic institutions across Canada to have an undergraduate accounting program accredited by CMA Canada. This is great news for current students, because it means it will now be easier for UNB students to earn the prestigious CMA designation.
Students who successfully complete the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Accounting Major Program with a minimum grade point average of 75 per cent are exempt from writing the CMA Entrance Examination. This select group of students will enter directly into the Strategic Leadership Program™, the final step required to obtain the CMA designation.
Daniel F. Coleman, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration commented, "the CMA accreditation is a notable achievement for our accounting program. We are pleased that CMA Canada recognizes the quality of our program, and delighted that our students will now be able to attain the CMA designation more efficiently. We thank CMA Canada for the recognition."
