Molly Butler has officially signed with the Seawolves Basketball squad. Molly comes to us from Kennebecasis Valley High School and brings along 3 years of experience playing with Basketball New Brunswick. She has been playing basketball from the age of 7 and she has loved the game ever since she picked up a ball. Molly grew up in a basketball environment, she was always in the gym with various teams, either playing or coaching. What she gets most out of the sport is the satisfaction from improving and adding value to any team she plays on. She has developed a great love and passion for playing basketball that it has become one of the largest aspects of her life.

“I aspire to work my hardest, focus on skill development and do the best I possibly can in order to help my team.”

Originally from Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Molly will be staying close to her friends and family for her post-secondary education. She chose UNB Saint John because it offers the program of her choice and she thoroughly enjoys Coach Munroe’s philosophy about being a balanced student athlete. She plans on taking the Bachelor of Arts program, majoring in Mathematics, followed by an education degree. Once Molly graduates, she hopes to teach math at the middle school or high school level. Molly has no issue boasting about her biggest role model, her mother, who has provided her with fantastic guidance throughout the years. She sees her mother as the strongest woman she knows, both physically and mentally. Molly has learned many life lessons from her mom but most importantly she has always taught Molly how to persevere through challenging situations in life.

Head Coach, Kevin Munroe often scouts out local talent and as a result he found Molly. He watched her play for the KV Crusaders in many of their home games. He also got the opportunity to watch her play in the Riverboat Classic Basketball Tournament. He notes that Molly is very mature, a great student and extremely focused on her educational goals. Coach Munroe feels that her hard-working nature, on and off the court, will be a great value to the team.

“She plays hard on both ends of the court and she has great range with shooting. Molly is a team player first, she brings a lot of energy and desire to get better. She will help us in the scoring department and will help stretch the defense.”

Coach Munroe likes Molly’s attitude towards doing whatever it takes to accomplish her academic and athletic goals. He really appreciates her intensity and enthusiasm for coming to play basketball with the Lady Seawolves. He is excited about the abundance of experience she brings with her from a winning program.

Welcome to the Seawolves Family Molly!
