Stefan Jonsson comes to us from Quispamsis, NB and will be graduating from Kennebecasis Valley High School. Soccer is everything to Stefan, and the lessons he has learned and continues to learn will stay with him forever. He has built leadership skills and self confidence and most importantly he understands what it means to be a team player. Teamwork has taught him that its not just about one player but rather the whole of the machine working together to achieve success. He is passionate in his play and continuously strives to be the best version of himself on and off the pitch. During his time playing soccer for the KV Crusaders Stefan received the award of Most Valuable Player. He pushes himself as a student athlete and makes sure that he gets the work done in the classroom and on the field. His grades are an excellent representation of his academic success.

“My goal as an athlete this season in to do everything in my power for the team in order to succeed.”

Stefan chose UNB Saint John because it is close to home and the campus offers just what he needs academically. He is looking forward to the opportunities he will take advantage of once he arrives in the fall. He is enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration as he has a passion for the business world, the opportunities will be endless for him.

His biggest role model is his father, his influence and guidance set the tone for Stefan’s motivation to do whatever he sets his mind to.  His father is his inspiration to never give up on his goals.

Dave Vicente, Head coach of the soccer team, met Stefan 2 years ago when he assisted in coaching the Fundy Soccer high-performance group. He notes that Stefan is very calm on the ball with great vision and great passing range.

“Stefan will bring us stability in the midfield with his passing, defending and tackling ability.”

Welcome to the Seawolves Family Stefan!
