Molly Barker from Campobello Island has officially signed with the Seawolves Basketball program.
Her small school, Campobello Island Consolidated, provided her the opportunity to play multiple sports but basketball is her number one. Molly has received awards such as MVP and All-Star for her sport and played on the BNB U16 team in 2018. She was picked for the All-Star game in 2020 and managed to maintain high honors for most of her high school career. Molly truly appreciates the opportunities that basketball has brought her, she played under some amazing coaches and built friendships that will last a lifetime. She learned early on the importance of dedication and how the small things often have the largest impact.
Molly chose UNB Saint John as it has been her plan for quite some time to attend a campus that is close to home and she is beyond excited to be a part of the Seawolves squad. Molly will be taking Bachelor of Business Administration in the fall and her career aspirations are to become an accountant.
“My biggest goal for this season is to learn as much as I can and take everything in. I am excited for this opportunity and hope to become the best player I can be.”
Molly has received an abundance of support from her parents, who are her biggest role models. They are the reason she has become the person and athlete she is today. Her parents have always pushed her to do her best and have encouraged her understanding that hard work pays of for the important things in life.
Head Coach, Kevin Munroe, heard about Molly through the Basketball New Brunswick program. He spoke with one of her coaches who strongly recommended her as a player. When he spoke with Molly he was impressed by her maturity and priorities on academics. He likes that she is extremely focused on achieving her goals for the future.
“Molly brings a strong academic attitude that fits perfectly with our team. She brings a lot of athleticism, aggression and a solid work ethic that is evident both on and off the court. Her overall character as an individual will be an ideal fit for our team”.
Welcome to the Seawolves Family Molly!
