UNB reaffirms commitment to a respectful and inclusive workplace

UNB marked Respectful Workplace Week with an annual signing ceremony, reaffirming its commitment to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion across the university.
During a signing ceremony, the University of New Brunswick reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive workplace in recognition of Respectful Workplace Week, held Sept. 8-11.
Representatives from the Public Legal Education and Information Service of New Brunswick (PLEIS-NB) joined members of UNB's President’s Executive Team, Human Rights and Equity Office, the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research, as well as faculty and staff, to mark the occasion.
"This week serves as an important reminder that creating a respectful workplace is not a one-time effort. It is built every day through our actions, our words and the way we support one another," said Acting President and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kathy Wilson, at the ceremony.
Organized annually by the PLEIS-NB, Respectful Workplace Week features a variety of workshops, presentations, and discussions aimed at promoting healthy, respectful workplaces and building safer, more inclusive work environments.
For over a decade, UNB has proudly recognized Respectful Workplace Week, renewing its commitment to the declaration's guiding principles each year.
