UNBers among Atlantic Business Magazine's 2024 Top 50 CEO Awards

Atlantic Business Magazine’s 2024 Top 50 CEO Awards were recently announced, and 10 UNB alumni and alumni of the UNB Wallace McCain Institute’s (WMI) Entrepreneurial Leaders Program (ELP) made the prestigious list.

Established in 1999, Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEO awards have grown into Atlantic Canada’s premiere celebration of corporate leadership excellence. Winners are known for growing their business/organization, advancing their industry and giving back to their community. Nominations are submitted by the magazine’s readers and nominees are judged according to corporate, community and industry involvement, as well as company growth and response to various managerial challenges. 

Sascha Boulet-Devost (BScKin'09), ELP11Th

CEO, Capture Therapeutics, Grand Falls, N.B. 

Capture Therapeutics CEO Sascha Boulet-Devost developed a business model that’s driving a culture of transparency and accountability, attracting top talent who work collaboratively to provide the best possible patient outcomes. 

Tanya Chapman (Class of '11, MBA'12)

President & CEO, The Chapman Group, Saint John, N.B. 

Tanya Chapman encourages her team at The Chapman Group to continuously learn and innovate. Her open leadership style ensures her team members feel heard, valued and empowered.  

John Flewelling (BScEng'91)

President & CEO, CBCL Ltd., Halifax, N.S. 

Since John Flewelling took over the reins in 2019, CBCL Limited has seen sales and revenue growth of 60+ per cent and topped 500 employees. Says Flewelling: “I value the voices of our young professionals as much as our most senior resources." 

Rosalyn Hyslop, ELP11Th 

Co-CEO, Mrs. Dunster’s (1996) Inc., Sussex, N.B. 

In just 10 years, Co-CEO Rosalyn Hyslop has seen Mrs. Dunster's Inc quadruple annual revenue and increase staff to 260 people. The bakery is now shipping fresh good coast-to-coast and to the state of Maine. 

Kevin Kiley (LLB'93)

Managing Partner, McInnes Cooper, Halifax, N.S. 

Since taking the reins in 2019, Kevin Kiley saw McInnes Cooper’s annual revenues increase 30 per cent and profits are up by over 40 per cent. 

Dr. Erik Klein (Class of ’97)

CEO, Town Health Solutions, Hampton, N.B. 

Dr. Erik Klein attributes the success of Town Health Solutions to innovation, networking and negotiation. When asked about its future, Klein says, “If you use knowledge for good, the raod ahead gets easier.” Congratulations Dr. Klein.

Co-CEOs, Tire Shack Brewing Co., Moncton, N.B. 

Alan Norman and Jerrica Kennedy embrace diversity and inclusion at Tire Shack Brewing Co. “We are proud of the fact that in what is traditionally a male-dominated industry, our organization is 75 per cent female.” 

Dr. Lesley Steele (BSc'94), ELP7

CEO, Steele Veterinary Group, Fredericton, N.B. 

Dr. Lesley Steele’s impact on veterninary care is growing, and her use of AI tech and a full-time wellness practitioner underscores Steele Veterinary Group’s resilience and commitment to excellence.

Founding Partner & CEO, Symplicity Designs, Moncton, N.B. 

Since its creation 10+ years ago, Symplicity Designs helped over 500 businesses and institutions acrss the country. Founding Partner and CEO, Matt Symes credits the success to their business culture. “Our client relationships go beyond transactions—they’re true partnerships.”

Co-Founder & CEO, Four Eyes Financial, Saint John, N.B. 

Her determination to build the fintech sector in Atlantic Canada empowered Lori Weir to transform an idea into a thriving tech company—Four Eyes Financial. Under her leadership, the company has grown to over 52 employees and increased revenue by 145 per cent since 2021.
