The University of New Brunswick has been recognized as a top employer three times over in 2026, highlighting the university’s people-first culture and long-term investment in its workforce.

UNB has earned spots on Canada’s Top 100 Employers, Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers, and Top Employers for Canadians Over 40 for 2026, a trio of distinctions that reflect the university’s ongoing commitment to supporting employees throughout every stage of their careers.

All three awards were presented by Mediacorp Canada Inc., which evaluates organizations based on workplace policies, benefits, professional development programs and overall employee experience.

UNB’s inclusion among Canada’s Top 100 Employers places it alongside leading organizations nationwide. Reviewers highlighted the university’s competitive pension plan, benefits designed to support employees and their families at work and at home, and a culture grounded in respect, inclusion and community impact.

The university was also named one of Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers, recognizing its role as a leading workplace in the region. The award reflects UNB’s focus on learning and growth, where employees are encouraged to continue their studies through generous tuition subsidies along with complimentary access to the LinkedIn Learning platform.

Rounding out the recognitions, UNB was selected as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Canadians Over 40. The designation celebrates organizations that value experience and provide meaningful support for long-term career sustainability. At UNB, that includes opportunities for continued professional development, competitive benefits, phased retirement options and workplaces where knowledge-sharing and mentorship are encouraged across generations.

Together, the three accolades speak to the strength and diversity of UNB’s workforce—from early-career professionals to long-serving faculty and staff—and the university’s commitment to creating an environment where people can build fulfilling, long-term careers.

“These awards are a reflection of our people,” said Shawn Quinlan, associate vice president of People & Culture. “They highlight the care, expertise, and dedication our faculty and staff bring to UNB every day, and the importance we place on supporting them at every stage of their careers.”
