The University of New Brunswick has been named one of Canada’s Top 50 Research Universities in a list released by Research Infosource Inc.

UNB was ranked in 28th place overall and was the highest ranked university in New Brunswick. UNB also placed 5th in the comprehensive grouping of universities in both faculty research intensity and graduate student research intensity, based on the total research income per faculty and graduate student respectively.

“We are thrilled that UNB has been named as one of the top 50 research universities in Canada,” says Dr. David MaGee, UNB’s vice-president research. “Having the research carried out at UNB, both by faculty and graduate students, consistently recognized as among the best in the country demonstrates the commitment our researchers have to challenging the knowledge of today.”

Research Infosource’s ranking is based on a number of factors, including total sponsored research income, research intensity per faculty, research intensity per graduate student, total number of publications, publication intensity and publication impact.
