Our young alumni have transformed their UNB degrees into careers around the world. Whether their office is at a desk, on stage, in the outdoors or always on the move, we love taking a glimpse into their daily life. As Client Solutions Managers in the Global Sales Organization at Facebook Canada located in Toronto, two of our very own UNB young alumni, Farhad Aghaie Mibody (BBA'09) and Bobby Hennessey (BBA'08), tell us about their bright and creative workspaces, and the collaborative environment that keeps them motivated.

Q: What does an average day look like for you as Client Solutions Managers in the Global Sales Organization at Facebook?
Bobby: We work with organizations that invest in Facebook’s advertising solutions to achieve their business goals. We spend a good portion of the day meeting with our clients and developing strategies that are most likely to get these advertisers the results they’re looking for. In addition to that, we work closely with a number of cross-functional partners in our creative, measurement and product development organizations – all with the intent of making sure our clients experience is the best it can be.
Q: What do you love most about your office/work space?
Bobby: I love the actual workspace itself – it’s spacious, has lots of inspirational posters and sayings on the wall, and our view of Queen’s Park in Toronto is stunning!
Farhad: I love the open spaces in the office; it yields more productivity, collaborative work, and creativity. Each employee is given a laptop, not a desktop computer, which allows employees to have the ability to detach from their desk any time; either for projecting work in a meeting room or for hiding away in a nook of the office to focus. There is a great balance between openness and focus in the office. The leadership team sits side-by-side with the rest of the staff, which flips the traditional “corner office” mentality on its head. This arrangement encourages everyone to voice their opinions.
Q: What keeps you motivated and on track?
Bobby: One of the key values at Facebook is to “Focus on Impact” – this means that we actively prioritize our work and invest the most time in the projects that are most likely to have the most meaning to our business and clients. The idea that we’re (almost) always working on the most important thing is a great way to stay motivated.
Farhad: The mission; give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. That is such an amazing social mission and I think its one of the greatest challenges of our generation. This keeps me motivated and on track as I contribute in trying to solve for the world.
Q: What is one thing you couldn’t live without in your office?
Bobby: My teammates. I’ve had a number of great jobs, but when I think back to places I’ve enjoyed working at the most, it always comes down to the people.
Farhad: The people who I get the chance to work with have been the smartest people I have ever met and the best part is they are the kindest and most thoughtful. They make it so incredibly fun and gratifying that all challenges become easier to overcome
