Kaity Sears has officially signed with the UNB Saint John Seawolves women’s volleyball team for the 2018-2019 season.

The squad’s newest member comes to UNB Saint John all the way from Olds, Alberta and has recently graduated from Olds High School. Kaity has been playing volleyball since grade 7 and never turns down an opportunity to play. She mentions that it is a great way for her to have fun, stay active and do something she loves.  Her goals as an athlete are to build her physical strength and character as she moves into a new chapter with her fellow Seawolves this fall.

Kaity's experience and hard work in volleyball have earned her the MVP award for three years in a row in addition to being named athlete of the year in grade 9.

“Playing the sport I love at a higher, more competitive level while continuing my education is something I’m looking forward to.”

Head Coach Lauren Hale-Miller says it was her smart way of playing and speed on the court that first piqued her interest.

“I’m very excited about having such an experienced right side in the mix. Her speed will help us both offensively and defensively.”

Kaity hopes to add positivity and encouragement to the team, both on and off the court.

“This sport means so much to me, and I am passionate about it because it gives a reason to push hard and reach my goals.”

Kaity will be starting the Biology Psychology program in the fall. She chose UNB Saint John because of the small class sizes, and is looking forward to playing the sport she loves. One person in particular that will be very proud to see Kaity compete at this level is her biggest fan and role model, her mom! After meeting with Coach Hale-Miller, Kaity decided that attending UNB Saint John and joining the Seawolves program was a move in the right direction. Being on the honor roll for the past three years, Kaity knows what it takes to succeed not only athletically but academically as well!

Welcome to the Seawolves Family Kaity!
