Emma Lynch has officially signed with the UNB Saint John Women's Volleyball Team!
Emma is a passionate and talented setter from Quispamsis, New Brunswick. Coming from Kennebecasis Valley High School (KVHS), Emma has played volleyball for four years with the Knights, earning MVP in her final season. Being a great setter isn’t Emma’s only skill, she has dabbled in field hockey and softball and had the opportunity to represent New Brunswick at the 2017 Canada Games for softball. Emma is also two-time provincial champion for basketball, and most recently brought her team to a varsity softball provincial championship. Emma was named Female Athlete of the Year at KVHS in her graduating year and has proved that she is able to balance both academics and athletics. She graduated with French Immersion Honors and will be starting in the Bachelor of Science program at UNB Saint John in the fall.
"I'm looking forward to having such a hard-working and motivated athlete join our team," said women's Head Coach Lauren Hale-Miller. "Emma is going to add strong work ethic and athleticism to our team."
Coach Hale-Miller first noticed Emma during the Dave Patterson Memorial tournament and was immediately interested in her ability to keep everyone on the court calm. The incoming setter chose UNB Saint John for the small class sizes, and for the chance to play volleyball at the collegiate level. Emma hopes to provide leadership to the team and is looking forward to meeting all her new teammates.
"I love the teamwork aspect and the friendships you make while being a part of a team. There's something so satisfying about working together to get a kill."
Emma hopes to push herself as an athlete and improve daily. This fits in line perfectly with Coach Hale-Miller’s plan, as she works hard to create a learning environment for each workout, practice and game.
Welcome to the Seawolves family, Emma!
