Bridgitte Boone has officially signed with the UNB Saint John Seawolves volleyball team for the 2018-19 Varsity season.

Coach Lauren Hale-Miller has had the opportunity to coach Bridgitte on several occasions through the Spartans Volleyball Club. She has been able to see her transform from a young 14U player into a strong, hardworking 18U player. Coach Hale-Miller has known Bridgitte for a long time so first impressions do not necessarily apply when recruiting the soon to be freshman.

"Her work ethic and passion to be better and to win is far from none. She has a toolbox full of volleyball knowledge and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to coach her further and help her reach her full potential".

Bridgitte is strong in serving and her work ethic on the court is incredible. Her passion for the sport radiates from her when she plays and she has a love for the game like no other. Her depth in athleticism on the front and back court will really propel the Seawolves line up and she is always striving towards success.

Club volleyball has been a major driving factor in Bridgitte's success, she has played 6 years in the club setting in Fredericton. She also played volleyball at Nashwaaksis middle school and Leo Hayes high school. In the summer of 2014, 2015 and 2016 she played on the Provincial team for New Brunswick and in her last season her team won the Atlantic Gold medal. Her athletic awards include MVP for her club team, high school team and Team NB. Bridgitte has been playing volleyball since 2013 and has traveled all over the Atlantic provinces for her career.

"I met a lot of great coaches and players and made a lot of good friends over the years".

She has been to Nationals a few times with her club team and each time they have  been able to take home a medal. She will be travelling to Alberta this year with the Spartans to play in the Volleyball Canada Nationals where she hopes to get another medal.

Bridgitte chose UNB Saint John specifically for the Health Science Program. She had a tour of the university in 2017 and really liked the campus and the opportunity it offered. Being able to visit the campus helped her choose courses in high school which will help prepare her academically for her first year in University. She is looking forward to getting the ball rolling academically and athletically.

"My goal is to apply to the Radiography Department and have a future at a hospital in the X-Ray department. I am very excited about my opportunity to play with the women's Seawolves Volleyball team".

Welcome to the Seawolves family Bridgitte!!
