University communities play a crucial role in advancing a more sustainable future. As UNB strives to meet its climate action and sustainability objectives, UNB Sustainability is proud to spotlight campus initiatives focused on 'Conscious Consumption', by educating about food security and offering locally and ethically sourced food options.
UNBSU Food Bank
Did you know that the UNB Student Union (UNBSU) operates a Food Bank for students? Located in Room 126 of the Student Union building, our Food Bank is dedicated to supporting the UNB community and working together to achieve food security for students.
In partnership with Greener Village, the Food Bank provides a variety of food items, including both non-perishable goods and perishable items, to ensure our students have access to the sustenance they need.
UNBSU Food Bank mandate
To help combat food insecurity faced by members of the UNB Fredericton student community by operating an on-campus food bank, founded on the pillars of confidentiality and accessibility.
Why this is important for students
The Student Union strives to help UNB students in as many ways as possible. As a team, we saw food insecurity prevalent on campus and knew we had to find a way to help our students - that is what the UNBSU Food Bank is.
All Students at UNB Fredericton who wish to access the UNBSU Food Bank must fill out the user agreement rorm and the registration form. Once these are filled out, students will receive an email to arrange their preferred collection method, with either an evening appointment or contactless pickup of a pre-packed bag.
