Sustainable Spots in Fredericton

This summer, we (the Sustainability Interns) went on a tour around Fredericton, where we learned about various places, located on the North and South side of the Saint John River practice sustainability. Several experts and fellow interns shared how sustainability plays an important role in the production and transportation of their products.
To truly experience Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick, we highly recommend that you explore how its community integrates sustainability within its various attractions by checking out the following spots.
The Abbey Café & Gallery is one of the best vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Fredericton. It serves meals, desserts, soups and locally roasted coffee. It’s also a great place to showcase your art!

Monarch is the first LGBTQ+ community center in Fredericton. It hosts a multitude of events, from game nights to clothing swaps, for all ages. Check out their produce pantry which happens every Wednesday evening at 5pm, during the summer months, to get some fresh produce.
