Department of Mathematics & Statistics undergraduate students Tony Wu and Brandon Doherty came first and fourth, respectively, in the math student talk competition at the Science Atlantic conference in Saint John (Oct 3-5, 2014). Chris Abbandonato (a recent Statistics Masters Degree recipient and current Math & Stats stipend instructor at UNB) has been busy helping students at Nashwaaksis Middle School investigate "The Secret Behind Flinging Elastic Bands". Their science club project was recently featured on the front page of the Toronto Star, as well as CBC television.
