UNB proudly welcomes the recipients of the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarships!

Isaac Buckingham, 17, is a recipient of the $100,000 Schulich Leader Scholarship. A graduate of Corner Brook Regional High School in Corner Brook, Nfld., Buckingham is entering the bachelor of science in engineering program. Buckingham was selected for his outstanding academic and extra-curricular achievements, including participation in the SHAD program and representing Team NL in both alpine ski racing and beach volleyball at the Canada Games.

Micah Landry, 18, is a recipient of the $80,000 Schulich Leader Scholarship. A graduate of St. Stephen High School in St. Stephen, N.B., Landry is entering the bachelor of computer science program. Landry was selected for his outstanding academic and extra-curricular achievements, including leading his school’s cybersecurity team and competing at the national level in track and field.

Recognizing the increasing importance and impact that STEM disciplines will have on the prosperity of future generations, businessman and philanthropist Seymour Schulich established this $100+ million scholarship fund in 2012 to encourage our best and brightest students to become Schulich Leader Scholars: the next generation of entrepreneurial-minded, technology innovators.

Through The Schulich Foundation, these prestigious entrance scholarships are awarded to 100 high school graduates enrolling in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) undergraduate program at 20 partner universities in Canada. Every high school in Canada can submit one Schulich Leader Nominee per academic year based on academic excellence in STEM, entrepreneurial leadership, and financial need.
