Viqar Husain, a professor in the department of mathematics and statistics at the University of New Brunswick Fredericton (UNB), has been researching the structure of spacetime for a number of years. Jonathan Ziprick recently joined the department in August 2014 as a postdoctoral researcher after completing his PhD at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. Department of Mathematics & Statistics undergraduate students Tony Wu and Brandon Doherty came first and fourth, respectively, in the math student talk competition at the Science Atlantic conference in Saint John (Oct 3-5, 2014). Tony and Brandon also placed fourth as a team in the math contest on Friday.
