UNB Saint John to Host ACAA Soccer Championships

UNB Saint John will host the 2017 Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) men’s and women’s soccer championships on Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Canada Games Stadium. This event will feature some of the best University and College players in Atlantic Canada. The Holland College Hurricanes will be looking to continue their recent dominance by winning the ACAA men’s title for a fourth straight season. University of King’s College, Mount Saint Vincent University and Crandall University look to be the teams who will try to end the Holland College dynasty.
The Holland College women will be looking for a repeat but will face major challenges from DAL AC, St. Thomas, Mount Saint Vincent University and the University of King’s College and Crandall University. Mount Saint Vincent University can never be counted out, having won the ACAA championship three of the last five years. University of King’s College has an explosive team capable of beating all other teams. Crandall University has been inconsistent but are capable of an upset in the playoffs.

Men’s semi-finals
3:00 p.m.- 1st vs. 4th
5:30 p.m.- 2nd vs. 3rd
Sunday, Oct. 29
Women’s finals 12 p.m. – Semi-final winners
Men’s finals 2:30 p.m. – Semi-final winners
Admission for the event is $5 for an adult day pass, $3 for a student day pass and children under 12 are free. All games will be webcasted live on ACAA TV, hosted by Bell Aliant.
