This year’s Irving Oil Good Energy Scholars are Daniella Acosta, Zulaykha Asman, Juliette Vie and Maxine Wall.

This year’s Irving Oil Good Energy Scholars are Daniella Acosta, Zulaykha Asman, Juliette Vie and Maxine Wall.

Daniella Acosta of Saint John is a graduate of St. Malachy’s Memorial High School. Daniella is enrolled in the bachelor of health sciences degree program at UNB Saint John.

Zulaykha Asman, also of Saint John, graduated from Saint John High School and is enrolled in the bachelor of science in nursing degree program at UNB Saint John.

Juliette Vie of Quispamsis is a graduate of Centre Scolaire Samuel-de-Champlain. Juliette is enrolled in the bachelor of science in engineering degree program at UNB Fredericton.

Maxine Wall of Grand Bay-Westfield graduated from St. Malachy’s Memorial High School. Maxine is enrolled in the bachelor of arts degree program at UNB Fredericton.

With each scholarship valued at $40,000 over four years, the Irving Oil Good Energy Scholarship at UNB is one of the university’s most prestigious scholarship programs.

Daniella, Zulaykha, Juliette and Maxine join a community of Irving Oil Good Energy Scholars that has been growing since the award was introduced in 2022. Previous scholars are:

  • 2024-25: Sue Le, Isabella Ker, Yasmin Shaheen and Lily Breneol
  • 2023-24: Kaitlyn Pelletier, Elizabeth Henwood, Anil Singh and Hannah Letto
  • 2022-23: Chani Salomon, Veronica Garcia, Kaley Paul and Estella Calderon

How to apply

The Irving Oil Good Energy Scholarship at UNB supports New Brunswick students beginning an undergraduate degree program at UNB, with a focus on supporting students from underrepresented groups. Selection is based on academic achievement, community impact, volunteerism and extracurricular activities. At least four Irving Oil Good Energy Scholars are selected each year.
