UNB to grant two honorary degrees at fall graduation ceremonies

The University of New Brunswick (UNB) will grant two honorary degrees to an outstanding community leader, and leading historian at the fall graduation ceremonies in Fredericton and Saint John on Oct. 24 and 25.
Dr. John Reid will be awarded an honorary doctorate of letters in Fredericton on Oct. 24. Considered UNB’s most eminent history graduate, it is widely acknowledged that no other scholar working today has so profoundly shaped our understanding of early imperial-Indigenous relations.
Julie Dingwell will be awarded an honorary doctorate of letters in Saint John on Oct. 25. Through her humanitarianism and social justice advocacy, community advocate Julie Dingwell is one of the province’s leading advocates for harm reduction.
