The University of New Brunswick (UNB) and the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) signed a renewal collective agreement for full-time faculty on Dec. 15, 2022.
The collective agreement, which covers 2022 to 2025, was ratified by the AUNBT full-time membership and the UNB Board of Governors. Certified by the New Brunswick Labour and Employment Board in 1979, the AUNBT is a bargaining unit that includes full-time UNB teachers and researchers. There are over 500 members in the full-time group.
Dr. Susan Blair, AUNBT past president, Department of Anthropology, Fredericton campus and AUNBT lead negotiator, said both teams were able to focus on the process and context to address challenges.
“During the bargaining process, both teams worked collaboratively and constructively to reach important and reasonable goals on behalf of AUNBT members. This represents the ongoing positive relationship that continues to grow between the two parties.”
Both parties said they feel this agreement reflects their shared commitment to working together and to supporting faculty at UNB.
