Saint John College, located at the University of New Brunswick, has launched a new English language coaching service.
Language coaching is a unique service that allows individuals to work with certified, highly experienced English-second and additional-language educators to develop a customized, targeted coaching plan.
The service is designed to help individuals identify their long-term language learning goals and to provide instruction in those areas, allowing them to build lasting fluency and confidence in the English language.
The College’s language coaching service can also offer help to individuals looking to improve their language abilities for a very specific purpose or outcome, such as a professional presentation or interview.
“At Saint John College, we offer a variety of specialized programs, and we are excited to add language coaching to our list of services,” says Lindsay Taylor Doiron, director of Saint John College. “It is important for us to be adaptable and inclusive with students’ learning and we can achieve that through coaching.”
Anyone can use this service to strengthen or develop their language skills, including students and industry professionals, both locally and globally.
“A language coach is suited for those who have specific needs, rather than learning through a curriculum,” says Taylor Doiron. “Unlike tutoring, a language coach will work with individuals to deepen their understanding of English and strategize ways to support and empower the learner on their journey.”
In a rapidly globalizing world, language coaching can help individuals expand their reach to work with global teams across the world. By investing in strengthening English language abilities, more employees and companies can effectively build talent that can easily work in different places and with different cultures.
The language coaching service can be delivered online or in-person and is available in five or 10-hour bundles, including a free needs analysis offered to all clients.
