The University of New Brunswick’s J. Herbert Smith Centre for Technology Management & Entrepreneurship (TME) is seeking early stage companies with innovative ideas that are interested in participating in the Summer Institute’s 2020 cohort.
The Summer Institute, a 12-week interdisciplinary accelerator program that was developed in 2014, accepts five to seven companies each year. This year’s program will run from April 27 until July 16, and the deadline for applications is Feb. 15.
Participants of the Summer Institute will receive stipends to cover living expenses, prototyping grants and workspace access in Fredericton’s downtown core. They will also participate in intense programming that is mentor-led. Mentors from the Summer Institute will help participants in the development of sustainable and profitable companies that also have the potential to make a social impact.
Previous participants of the program include Stash Energy, Koffee Organics, UpFront Cosmetics and Educated Beards.
Summer Institute applications can be accessed through F6S, an online tool that links startups with funders and programs.
