The University of New Brunswick (UNB) and the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) signed a renewed collective agreement for full-time faculty on Feb. 20, 2026.
The collective agreement, which covers 2025-2029, was ratified by the AUNBT full-time membership and the UNB Board of Governors last week. AUNBT (FT) represents approximately 600 members, which consist of faculty, instructors and librarians.
UNB’s President and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Paul J. Mazerolle said the respectful approach and shared commitment to students helped foster a successful and collegial bargaining process. “I want to extend my sincere thanks to both bargaining teams for their professionalism, dedication and sustained efforts over the course of negotiations. This spirit of collaboration will position our university well as we strengthen and advance our mission.”
Dr. Susan Blair, AUNBT lead negotiator, said she’s pleased that both teams engaged in thoughtful and constructive discussions to advance fair and meaningful outcomes for AUNBT members. “This agreement reflects not only the progress achieved at the table, but also the continued development of a positive and productive working relationship between the parties.”
The University of New Brunswick has enjoyed a long-standing positive relationship with various union groups on each campus for well over 40 years. Visit UNB labour relations for more information.
