Over the next four weeks, the University of New Brunswick (UNB) will shine a light on innovation and entrepreneurship at UNB through the stories that inspire, transform, provoke, and drive society toward a brighter, healthier tomorrow.

At UNB, challenge is opportunity.

As the beating heart of innovation and entrepreneurship in Atlantic Canada; UNB is home to a diverse community of experts, thought leaders and changemakers on a mission to disrupt the status quo with bold, cutting-edge ideas aimed at transforming our communities – and our world – for the better.

UNB fosters a culture of innovation. Our people learn how things work, then work to make them better.

Student and faculty innovators from UNB’s two campuses have access to a world-class group of innovation centres that includes the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity, McKenna Institute, J Herbert Smith Centre for Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, Pond-Deshpande Centre, and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. UNB’s Fredericton campus is home to Canada’s first-ever faculty of computer science, and construction is underway on the Saint John campus’ Health and Social Innovation Centre. This cutting-edge learning and research hub will house the Integrated Health Initiative, an interdisciplinary and collaborative initiative aimed at improving healthcare throughout Atlantic Canada.

From addressing housing insecurity and marginalized groups, to clean energy solutions and harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, UNB’s two campuses nurture and champion people, businesses and initiatives that address a varied range of community and global challenges.

Throughout the next month, we look forward to sharing inspiring stories and videos of innovation and entrepreneurship that showcase UNB’s thriving community of changemakers who turned their big ideas into action.
