Aidan Marcantonio has officially signed with the Seawolves soccer program for the 2024 varsity season. Coming to UNB Saint John from Missisauga, Ontario, Marcantonio has plenty of titles and good grades to prepare him for his next chapter as a student athlete.  

“I can't wait to bring my passion and love for the sport to UNB Saint John, as I become a part of the Seawolves family,” said Marcantonio. 

Some of his recent achievements include winning the Golden Horseshoe Soccer League Elite division, the Richmond Hill Classic tournament, and the FTF Fall Showdown tournament, where he was named to the tournament’s All-Star team.  

Head coach, PJ Ward, is looking forward to the offensive play that Marcantonio will bring to this season.  

“Aidan will be a constant threat to opposing defences as his skills and techniques allow him to get out of trouble when under pressure without losing the ball,” Ward said.  

Growing up playing multiple sports and keeping up with his schoolwork Marcantonio is ready to take on the next chapter of balancing schoolwork and athlete on campus.  

Graduating from Applewood Heights Secondary School, he will be taking UNB Saint John’s Business program, with a focus on accounting.  

“I am extremely excited to join the business program as it was highly recommended by many of the UNBSJ soccer team players I spoke to,” he said.  

Marcantonio is excited to be a new addition to the men’s soccer team and hopes to be an asset both on and off the field working hard to make the team successful.  

"I hope to be able to help the team achieve their goal of getting to this year's nationals, and I feel that with the right mindset we can achieve that goal and much more,” said Marcantonio.
