SAINT JOHN- A new face will be at the helm when the UNB Saint John’s women's volleyball program takes to the court in 2019. Head coach Lauren Hale-Miller has stepped down to pursue a new position as the full-time head coach of the Grand Prairie Regional College Wolves women’s volleyball team.
“It was a difficult decision to leave the Seawolves Women’s Volleyball Program,” says Hale-Miller. “There are a handful of seniors who I have had the privilege to watch grow into incredible young women, however I am thrilled to further my development as a coach in a new conference and province”.
During her three seasons at UNB Saint John, Lauren worked tirelessly to increase the team’s pace and intensify their defensive prowess. She improved the Seawolves to a 14-7 record in ACAA regular season play and had three straight ACAA conference playoff appearances. Most recently, Hale-Miller was honoured with the ACAA’s Coach of the Year Award.
“I cannot thank UNB Saint John enough for their continued support over the past 3 seasons,” says Hale-Miller. “Without their confidence and trust, I would not be in the position I am today”.
“We'll miss Lauren for her commitment and dedication to our program and our student-athletes,” says David Munro, UNB Saint John Athletic Director. “She was able to elevate the performance level of the program and we wish her the best as she pursues her career goals”.
