The Seawolves men's basketball team welcomes Austin Brun to their roster who adds size, passion and great work ethic to the team.

Austin caught the attention of Head Coach Peter Vincent who was pleasantly surprised by his play when he stepped on the court to scrimmage with the Seawolves this summer.

"He is a big, physical player who will be called upon to be an inside force as well as knock down shots. Rebounding will be something Austin should have an impact on, he uses his body position well so he will be strong on both ends of the floor."

Austin echoes a similar assessment of his game. He has been on successful squads in the past, notably taking the NBIAA Championship in his senior year (2016) with Fredericton high varsity Black Kats. This impact player knows what it takes to win and plans to bring this mentality with him to the Seawolves.

"I'm looking forward to getting the chance to play with a new group of guys. Playing for coach Vincent and helping this team improve from last year. We have a good young group of guys already, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds."

Austin's love of the game started at the early age of 7, when he would watch his brother play. He fondly recalls watching the NBA and playing ball outside with him. From there, Austin's skill, work ethic and competitiveness grew exponentially. To this day he proclaims he has modelled himself after his brother, and their relationship has grown because of their shared love of the game.

Once Austin arrives in the fall he will be taking the Bachelor of Arts program and has exclaimed his excitement for a fresh start with a new team. He is also looking forward to attending UNB Saint John because he thinks the campus will be a great fit for him. Needless to say there is mutual excitement to see what Austin will bring to the table as a student athlete.

Coach Vincent speaks the truth when he says: "He is only going to get better as he progresses through his first year with us."

Welcome to the Seawolves Family Austin!
