UNB and Unifor reach tentative agreement

The University of New Brunswick (UNB) and Unifor Local 4504 - the General Labour and Trade (GLTA) and the Secretaries, Accountants, Library Assistants, and Clerks (SALAC) - have reached a tentative agreement.
Collective bargaining has been underway since March 2022 following the expiry of the current agreement on Sept. 30, 2021. During the last negotiation session, Unifor applied for conciliation. As a result, the parties met with a conciliator from Jan. 30, 2023 - Feb. 2, 2023, at which point a tentative collective agreement was reached.
Both sides now have the opportunity to ratify the deal. Details will be released once an agreement has been ratified. Unifor represents 200 members in the SALAC group and 118 GLTA group members.
