If you're new to a leadership role or will soon transition to a position of authority, we can help.

UNB's Transition to Supervision seminar will equip you with the skills, strategies, and techniques you need to navigate the challenges and new responsibilities you may encounter as you take on your new position.

Date: June 8 & 9, 2022
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Wu Centre, UNBF campus (in-person)

In this seminar, you will:

  • Explore the importance of effective leadership in your new supervisory role
  • Learn how to give and receive feedback constructively and effectively
  • Discover what motivates your employees and yourself
  • Distinguish between coaching and counselling employees, and help employees develop skills in both areas
  • Gain strategies to deal with difficult employees
  • Apply active listening skills (e.g. open-ended probes and reflective statements)
  • Identify mistakes supervisors commonly make in performance management
  • Explore appropriate development strategies for different levels of employee performance
