In 2020, the Atlantic Institute for Policy Research (AIPR) collaborated with the Ottawa based Centre for the Study of Living Standards (CSLS) to conduct statistical studies of the state of innovation, and of manufacturing productivity in the province. Those studies are now complete and are available on the CSLS website:
- “Innovation In New Brunswick” CSLS Research Report 2020-08, September by Kimberley Wong
- “The Productivity Performance of New Brunswick Manufacturing: A Detailed Analysis” June 2021 by Andrew Sharpe
Both studies are comprehensive in terms of measures presented and include the most recent available data. New Brunswick’s performance in terms of innovation and manufacturing productivity is assessed in comparison the national performance and other provinces.
CSLS has continued to conduct statistical research on the New Brunswick economy and reports expected to be released in the coming year will cover demographic developments, income trends and disparities, well-being, the business environment, aggregate and industry productivity trends and the fiscal situation in the province.
