On Wednesday, Nov. 27, ITS must make important updates to UNB voicemail services. These changes are temporary until UNB’s new telephone services are fully in place this winter.

Faculty and staff - What do you need to do?

On Nov. 27, once the updates are complete, those with voicemail will receive an email with a temporary voicemail pin.

Use this temporary pin to set your new voicemail pin (you can reuse your current pin) and greeting message. You will be automatically prompted to do so when you try to access your voicemail after the changes have been made. Note: You do not have to be on campus to complete this; see instructions below.

How does this impact your voicemail services?

  • Any saved voicemail messages prior to the update can only be accessed in your UNB email—you will not be able to listen to old messages on the telephone.
  • New voicemail messages or missed call notifications may not be sent to your UNB email. This is still under investigation and would only be temporary until UNB’s new telephone services are in place.
  • Once the new telephone system is fully in place, you will need to reset your pin and greeting message (additional communications will be sent to you).

Why is this necessary?

UNB’s current voicemail technology has an end-of-life of Dec. 1, 2019. An alternate, temporary solution needed to be in place before this date to ensure continued voicemail services for the university.

Attend a campus town hall.

Faculty and staff are invited to attend a town hall to learn more about the upcoming changes to voicemail and UNB’s new telephone services coming this winter. No RSVP necessary – all faculty and staff are welcome.
