Impact of lynda com security breach on UNB users

Lynda.com logoLynda.com was recently the victim of an unauthorized third party data breach. It is not expected that passwords or specific user accounts were accessed, however user course and contact information may have been accessed.

Anyone who has logged in to a lynda.com account through UNB ITS within the past year has been notified of this issue.

I have a lynda.com account - what do I need to do to minimize my risk?

If you re-used a password you currently use for other online services, we suggest you change the password for those other online services as soon as possible.

If you used your current UNB password for your lynda.com account, we strongly recommend you change your UNB password right away. To do this:


Go to: myUNB Portal > eServices (in the launch menu) > Computing > Change your Password


Go to: myUNB Portal > eServices (in the launch menu) > IT Services -> Account Options > Change your password

Although passwords are not expected to have been accessed during the breach, changing your UNB password will help ensure your UNB data and personal information remain secure.
