More and more people are falling victim to phishing attacks, malware infections, and everything in between. UNB’s moves to address its cybersecurity risks through a new holistic strategy were recently highlighted in a story on IT World Canada. David Shipley, ITS’s Director of Strategic Initiatives, explained how UNB is using a four pronged approach in its strategy, with a major focus on educating UNB students, faculty and staff. Another large part to UNB’s strategy is through a new network and security architecture. With new and existing components working together like a “digital immune system”, UNB will be able to improve processes that are currently costly in hours of staff time. UNB’s new cybersecurity approach was also featured in a guest blog post titled “How we can turn the tide of cyber security in 2016,” by Shipley on Tripwire’s State of Security blog. Protect Yourself.
