Have you received an email that looks like an INTERAC e-transfer from the Canada Revenue Agency? Almost looks legitimate, right? Well, don’t be phishyfooled by this email scam.

Cyber Criminals are creative with the way they try to catch unsuspecting victims with their phishing emails. With INTERAC e-transfer becoming a popular choice for transferring money, scammers are betting on users to overlook and not double check emails if at first glance it looks like something they are already expecting, such as a tax return.

If you suspect you’ve got a phishy email on your hands, do not reply or click on any links; instead, contact the ITS Help Desk and they will let you know whether it can be trusted.
