Trying to remove the background colour from a  logo so you can use it in a document or email?

Microsoft Word  has an easy way to get rid of the background of a simple image without using an elaborate photo editing program.

(Note: instructions were written using Word 2010 and may vary slightly for Word 2013 or Word 2011 for Mac)

1. Paste the desired logo into Word.

2. Click on the image, and then click on the Format tab under Picture Tools.

3. To remove the background of your image completely, select Set Transparent Color and then click on the area you want removed. Or, if your image is a simple black logo, you can also just change the background to white or another desired colour by selecting one of the options available under Recolor

4. Et voila! You have your finished product.

Just keep in mind, this trick will only work if the background colour isn't used in the logo as well.
