Do you work from home and use UNB’s VPN (Virtual Private Network) to access your secure IT services and files saved on your personal (H:) or departmental network drives?

Earlier this morning, ITS upgraded UNB’s VPN client to a new solution available for free to UNB faculty, staff and students for both Mac and Windows computers. This new client is not only faster with increased security and newer technology, it is also compatible with Windows 8.1 and Mac OS 10.9, the latest versions of the operating systems.

Never heard of a VPN before?

UNB’s VPN is a type of network that provides faculty, staff and students with a secure connection to access UNB’s secure IT services from off-campus via the internet. By installing and using UNB’s VPN on your Mac or Windows computer, you are securely connected to UNB’s network just like when you are on campus.

How do you access UNB’s new VPN client?

For instructions on how to download and install the new ‘Junos Pulse’ VPN client, simply visit the ITS website, click the Setup Email/Wireless/Printing button, then select your device and operating system. Once the initial download and installation is complete, you will be able to quickly and easily access the VPN client directly from your Desktop.
