The University of New Brunswick’s Board of Governors has voted in favour of ratifying a new four-year collective agreement with the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) Contract Academic Employees (CAE) membership. This follows a positive ratification vote held by AUNBT’s CAE membership on Sept. 13, 2016.

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement that works for everyone,” says Dr. Daniel Coleman, chief negotiator for UNB.

“We share a commitment to academic excellence and student success and that was prevalent amongst all discussions. Our intent from the beginning was to be transparent and collaborative, and the AUNBT team reciprocated.”

“AUNBT is very happy both with the outcome and with how the negotiations were conducted by both sides,” says AUNBT president Allan Reid. “We look forward to a continuation of that collaborative spirit over the four-year term of the agreement.”

The new agreement provides for significant improvements in several areas, among them stipend rates and access to technology for instructional use.
