University of New Brunswick – New Brunswick Human Rights Commission - Sylvia Dooley
The University of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission and Sylvia (Bryson) Dooley have agreed to an adjournment of the judicial review of the Labour and Employment Board’s March 2 ruling compelling UNB to reinstate a women’s varsity hockey team. The hearing scheduled for October 18 was adjourned with the consent of all parties to attempt to resolve the issues in dispute.
A Judge of the Court of Queen’s Bench has been appointed to mediate and conduct a settlement conference in accordance with the New Brunswick Rules of Court. Mediation will take place in November and December.
All parties have agreed to a media blackout while mediation efforts are ongoing.
