The Faculty of Arts at UNB Saint John is now offering a Cooperative Education (Co-op) option within the Bachelor of Arts program.
Starting this September, students who enrolled in their second year of the program, and have met certain criteria, will be eligible.
“This BA Co-op is a great addition to the many other forms of experiential learning already offered by degree programs in the Faculty of Arts,” said Dr. Joanna Everitt, dean of arts at UNB Saint John.
“It builds upon our established relationships with institutions, non-profit organizations and businesses within the Saint John community and provides our students with meaningful paid work that complements their academic studies.”
Consistent with the philosophy of cooperative education, the program is designed to alternate study terms and three relevant paid work terms, accumulating practical experience and real-world skills along with their academic studies.
“The addition of this option will let our arts students experience the workforce and evaluate market demand for their degree skills,” said Dr. Robert MacKinnon, Vice-President (Saint John).
