The MBA professional development class is part of the first year of the MBA program at UNB Fredericton and features a different industry leader or business expert each week to work with students on contemporary business issues and to help them develop professional skills. This year, the Fredericton Mid-day Toastmasters Club sponsored the Speechcraft Program by conducting a series of workshops with the students, focusing on their speaking and presentation skills.
Jim Kokocki, President of Toastmasters International, will speak to the students on Friday March 18 to recognize their accomplishments during the MBA professional development class. Certificates of completion will be presented to those who have met the requirements of the program, beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Singer Hall, room 161, on the UNB Fredericton campus.
Employers consistently cite communication as one of the most important leadership skills they look for in employees. Integrating Toastmasters International Speechcraft into UNB’s MBA Professional Development Program means that the students work with an internationally recognized leadership brand to develop their professional skills.
Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development with over 332,000 members. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 15,400 clubs in 135 countries that make up their global network of meeting locations. The Fredericton Mid-day Toastmasters Club was formed in February 2014 and meets over lunchtime on the first and third Tuesday of every month at Planet Hatch in Fredericton’s Knowledge Park to accommodate working professionals.
