Dr. Paul Cook’s research was recently mentioned in the Oct. 4 edition of the New York Times.
Dr. Cook, an assistant professor in the faculty of computer science, works in the areas of computational linguistics and natural language processing – particularly as it applies to lexicography for building better dictionaries. He was featured for his work using computational techniques to find novel words by analyzing posts on Twitter.
