UNB recognizes newly declared Respectful Workplace Week
Thanks to the persistence of University of New Brunswick faculty members, the province, city and university has officially declared September 1-7 Respectful Workplace Week.
Many events and various awareness campaigns are underway this week, including a series of public talks at the Fredericton Public Library in Chickadee Hall tomorrow, Sept. 3.
Lack of respect at work often leads to workplace bullying, says UNB nursing faculty member Susanne O’Donnell. “We hope that these short talks will help people be more aware of workplace bullying and its harmful effects.”
The public talks called The Many Faces of Workplace Bullying are being hosted by the Workplace Violence and Abuse Team of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research.
All talks are free and open to the public. Light snacks will be on hand.
