The University of New Brunswick has again been recognized as one of the country’s top employers.

The Globe and Mail announced Canada's Top 100 Employers for 2014 this week. UNB was the only New Brunswick university to make the list and one of five Canadian universities recognized.

Here are some of the reasons why UNB was selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2014:
UNB:

  • encourages employees to balance their work and personal life through a range of alternative work arrangements, including flexible hours, telecommuting, shortened work week option and reduced summer hours
  • invests in ongoing employee development with tuition subsidies for courses taken at outside institutions, financial bonuses for some course completion and subsidies for professional accreditation
  • supports employees who are new mothers with maternity and parental leave top-up payments (to 95% of salary for 32 weeks) as well as the option to extend their leave into an unpaid leave-of-absence
  • also offers parental leave top-up payments to employees who are new fathers or adoptive parents (to 95% of salary for 17 weeks)
  • and provides onsite daycare services when employees are ready to return to work

UNB was also featured in The Globe and Mail’s special insert on the Top 100 employers. See the full article in addition to the complete list of this year's winners.
