As the academic year ramps up at the University of New Brunswick, the UNB Student Union and Campus Wellness Committee are bringing together groups from across campus to showcase the various programs and services that are available to students.
The 2013 UNB Success Fair will take place in the Student Union Building cafeteria on September 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
"The fair is an ideal place to discover everything that UNB has to offer," says Sara Rothman, student development coordinator on the Fredericton campus.
The event will include representatives from the International Student Advisors Office, Student Accessibility Centre, and Student Employment Office.
Jennifer Connolly, UNB Student Union VP (internal) has benefited greatly from these services in her past three years at UNB. "When I am sick, I use the Student Health Centre for quick and helpful health care services. When I began a job search, I attended one of the workshops put on by the Student Employment Services office where my resume was evaluated and I was given tips on interview skills. I learned about these types of services by attending the UNB Success Fair, which I recommend to all students - returning or new," Connolly says.
The fair is especially important for new students who are learning their way around campus, but students from all years are encouraged to discover what is available - before they need it.
"UNB offers a wide variety of services to aid students throughout their journey here at UNB," says Connolly. "These services give students the keys to success mentally, physically and academically - all of which are essential to university life."
Students who attend can also enter a draw for a University Bookstore gift card.
