Starting this past Saturday all UNB websites will get a facelift as we move to a more responsive web design.
"It will take several days to fully implement all the changes - after all, over 20,000 pages are being refreshed - but there will be very little actual downtime. When complete, the revised website will still provide users with everything they need to know about UNB, but will also have a smarter, attractive, and highly usable look," says Terry Nikkel, associate vice president of Information Technology Services at UNB.
But this is so much more than a new design.
In today's world of increasing mobile users it is essential to improve usability in order to optimize viewing capabilities across a variety of mobile devices.
"The UNB website will be the first major university site in the Atlantic Region, and among the first in Canada, to incorporate this new design architecture," says Nikkel.
Pages will now adjust to the device they're viewed on - a desktop, laptop, smartphone or tablet. These pages are now 'responsive' and will automatically resize to fit your viewing device.
Visitors to our website will be able to load the pages faster with better accessibility, offering a better web experience for all users.
