Four UNB Saint John MBA students won the Cervus Equipment business case competition held May 27 at UNB Saint John.
Five teams were shortlisted from 130 students in UNB Saint John's one-year MBA program. The winning team, comprised of Mirko Crevatin, Bernard Hache, Pierre Urier-Cattoire and Alexandre Legret, received $3,000.
The company chose to bring the case competition opportunity to UNB Saint John due to deep roots, relationships and respect for the faculty's approach to teaching business strategy.
Dan Doiron, Senior Teaching Associate at UNB Saint John collaborated with John Higgins, Vice President and Davis Schryer, Project Manager of Cervus, both of whom are Saint John natives and UNB alumni.
"We have a relationship with UNB, and a relationship with business in New Brunswick," says Schryer, who graduated from UNB Saint John’s MBA program in 2012. "We are always interested in deepening those relationships, in giving back and creating other mutually beneficial opportunities."
Dan Doiron agrees. "Competitions such as these are invaluable learning opportunities for all involved. The faculty and judges are inspired by our students' abilities to bring 'out-of-the-box' solutions to real business challenges, while the students enjoy the opportunity to apply their knowledge and interact with company executives."
"We have a connection with New Brunswick," says Higgins. "For us, it's about creating opportunities that spread benefit to real people through our products and services, our approach to leadership, and the investment we place in relationships. At the end of the day, that’s what it's all about."
