The University of New Brunswick Saint John has recently updated its first mobile application for smartphones.
The mobile app, available for Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad as well as Blackberry and Android, is new and improved with the addition of even more useful links.
"We've made a couple of significant improvements over the last version. The radio station feed is greet for example, but I think what will be most useful is once you login to D2L you don't have to login the next time," says Karen Keiller, Director of Information Services and Systems at UNB Saint John.
"Our updated application offers students, faculty and staff a really convenient way to access campus information while on the go."
"The most popular feature of the last version was booking a study room in the Hans W. Klohn Commons. We’ll have to see what gets the most use on this update."
Building upon the initial offerings the revised app provides instant access to D2L, the campus radio station, UNB YouTube channel, Facebook and Twitter feeds.
The UNB Saint John mobile app is available for free on the Apple App store or Google Play. Reviews and feedback are encouraged so the app can be continuously improved. Search in the app store for UNBSJ, write a review, or send an email to the Hans W. Klohn Commons.
The project was funded from the UNB Saint John Student Technology Fee and uses the Desire2Learn Campus Life service.
