Starting in 2013, UNB will introduce one Summer Term that will run from May-August and will replace the traditional Spring, Intersession and Summer Session.

Most students will not notice a difference. Under the single Summer Term, courses will still open for registration in March 2013. The Summer Term will officially begin in May; however, courses will start at different times throughout the summer, in the same way they did last year.

The transition to Summer Term benefits students in several ways:

  • Simplifies registration for full-term courses such as co-ops, internships and graduate courses
  • Continues the flexibility of course offerings within the full Summer Term, providing options for students as in the past
  • Courses taken through May-August will appear under one term on the transcript

Students with questions can speak to their academic advisors to determine their Summer Term options.

Summer Term courses will appear on the UNB timetable soon, so students are encouraged to plan now and be ready for Summer Term course registration opening in March.
