UNB Saint John student health advocate wins award

Vanessa Morris, a third-year nursing student at UNB Saint John, recently received the Mae Gallant Student Award from the Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses.
As the Health Promotion and Advocacy Chair, and executive member of the New Brunswick Division of the Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses, Vanessa received the award for her dedication to health promotion and advocacy.
Vanessa has spearheaded a number of projects including a global advocacy initiative where she led a campaign to purchase a mobile medical clinic for an African village as well as the collection of new men’s apparel and toiletries for a local men's shelter.
